A bit about our story:

Hegarty & Peery Realtors, Top Agent Team at  Keller Williams Realty in Charlottesville is comprised of the wife and husband team of Maureen Hegarty and Robert Peery.  Maureen and Rob embarked on their Real Estate careers in 2007 after purchasing their own home through the services of a non-Keller Williams agent the year before.  In Maureen's words, "it was an ultimately successful transaction but very touch and go right up to the last minute. It could have been so much better had the agents involved really been invested in the needs of their clients and proactive about finding solutions to the problems that cropped up along the way.  It was then that we first started to consider just how much we could bring to the table for people in a similar situation."

Maureen obtained her Virginia Real Estate license and selected  Keller Williams as her base of operations.  "Keller Williams Realty is unique in the Real Estate industry" Maureen relates.  "The Brokerage's motto is God, family, then business and they mean it.  That is something with which Rob and I can identify.  Additionally Keller Williams Realty is the second largest firm in North America which means they have access to technology that other brokerages do not have as well as a network of top-producing agents across the nation with whom listings are shared and referrals are made."
 
Maureen quickly earned a reputation among other agents in the area as one who is "a pleasure to work with" and one "who will get the job done" She has been called a "tough negotiator" and a "Natural."  Maureen says, "It is an incredibly exciting and fulfilling business. I love that I am able to use my expertise and  knowledge to help people get into homes that they love and to help those to sell their homes with the highest possible gain."  Maureen's early success spurred Rob to pursue and obtain his Real Estate license in October of 2007 and so Hegarty & Peery Realtors was born.
 
Rob relates, "I had a lengthy background in sales and management whereas Maureen, as a successful artist and art teacher, has tremendous talent that could be applied to marketing and photography.  The end result is that our clients are not only getting "two for the price of one" but the unique strengths that we each bring to table complement each other and so we deliver a much more well-rounded experience than others can. Since 2008 Hegarty & Peery Realtors has been the top Real Estate team in the Keller Williams Office representing both Purchasers and Sellers successfully in dozens of transactions each year.  Responding to the demands of an ever changing market, they have also received their certifications are Short Sale and Foreclosure specialists and have attended numerous trainings both locally as well as in areas as far away as Texas and California.
 
Both life-long residents of the Charlottesville area, Maureen and Rob live near Earlysville, Virginia with their son Alex and two adorable dogs, Dashiell and Jack.  Maureen utilizes her downtime for a number of artistic pursuits and still teaches art on Thursdays at a local, private elementary school.  She is also an avid rower.  Rob loves to cook, is an enthusiastic private pilot and enjoys reading, writing and the study of 20th century history.
